Questions & Answers

We are so excited about the response to Alive in Christ ~ A Weekend Renewal! The retreat is almost half-full with five days left until the early bird discount expires!

We've had a couple of questions, so we're sharing the answers here.

 Q1. When we talk about weight and food, will you be using verses? Or a product?

There are no products involved. 

Kelley will be using scripture and talking about finding our identity in Christ, not the number on the scale or the world’s view of beauty, etc. She’ll discuss listening to our bodies and making healthy choices, but the primary focus is on living our life for Christ rather than being distracted by an obsession with food or weight or body size. Then Melissa will take those messages and we’ll do some illustrated Bible journaling and other creative projects to help reinforce the ideas.

Neither of us is selling or promoting any product. At the end of the retreat, Melissa will share about her upcoming classes and Kelley will share about the online courses and coaching that she offers, but the weekend will be focused on the Word (and some food, FUN & fellowship).

Q2. I have a food allergy and at a lot of these retreats they tend to serve items that I'm unable to eat, so I've ended up going hungry or having to eat protein bars/shakes - which for this retreat would defeat the whole purpose of the retreat. So I guess my question is, what is the menu and would there be other options for me?

We totally understand this concern. Kelley and I worked together to choose the menu so there would be variety and options for everyone. We are not able to offer special options. However, each meal will be set up as a buffet in a private room just for our small group, so you can skip over the items you're not able to eat.

To help you in your decision to join us, here are the basics for each meal:

Friday evening light dinner/snack: Fresh Vegetable Crudite, Chipotle Ranch Dressing, Sliced Fruit & Berries, Honeyed Yogurt Dip, Hummus & Pita chips

Breakfast both days: assorted baked muffins, fresh fruit, scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage, breakfast potatoes & oatmeal with a variety of toppings

Saturday lunch is a Roasted Meats Buffet: Tortilla Soup, Southwestern Caesar with Chipotle Caesar Dressing, smoked ham, roasted turkey breast, grilled pineapple & strawberries, selection of cheeses, dessert

Saturday dinner is a Mexican Fajita Buffet: Chicken Tortilla Soup, chips & salsa, steak & chicken fajitas with grilled onions & peppers, rice & refried beans, flour & corn tortillas, dessert
